Recycling Truck Fire - Kurnell

Published: 09 Jun 2021 07:36am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) extinguished a fire in a recycling truck alight at Charles Parade in Kurnell this morning.

When crews arrived the contents of the truck were smouldering, however due to damage to the dumping mechanism in the truck the operator was unable to dump the load so it could be quickly put out.

FRNSW improvised by cutting a hole in the top of the truck's trailer, allowing them to pump water inside and extinguish the fire.

No one was injured in the fire.
