Rescue Incident - Catherine Hill Bay

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have rescued a man and a woman after they became trapped inside an ocean cave near Surfside Drive, Catherine Hill Bay just after 11.30pm last night.

Crews arrived on scene a short time later and made the 1km walk to the location. Crews then worked through for a number of hours to establish a rope rescue system to drop specialist rescue crews down the 20 metre cliff to retrieve the couple.

Both the man and woman were safely rescued and transferred into the care of NSW Ambulance just after 3am. The couple were treated on scene by paramedics for minor injuries.

NSW Rural Fire Service were also in attendance.
