Building Fire - Balmain

More than 30 firefighters have managed to extinguish a large fire that broke out at a building on Beattie Street, Balmain just before 6am this morning.

Firefighters arrived on scene a short time later to find a two storey commercial building with large amounts of smoke issuing from the windows.

Firefighters worked for more than two hours to contain the blaze, however, the building has been severely damaged.

Fire investigators alongside FRNSW's Ignitible Liquid Detection Dogs are currently on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.

Traffic in the area will be impacted as emergency services work to render the area safe.
