More than 20 Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters are working to contain a large house fire that broke out at a home on Underwood Circuit, Harrington Park just before 2pm this afternoon.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) received numerous Triple Zero (000) calls from the community following large amounts of smoke billowing from the windows of the home.

Upon arrival firefighters were met with a large fire which has spread from the lower level to the upper level and the roof of the home. Firefighters have now contained the blaze and are working to extinguish a number of hot spots.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, no injuries have been reported.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
