House Fire - Cobar

More than a dozen Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters have managed to extinguish a large fire that broke out at a home on Monaghan Street, Cobar this afternoon.

Just after 1pm FRNSW received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls after a large plume of smoke was seen coming from the single-level property, which neighboured a service station.

Firefighters worked for over 90 minutes to contain the fire however the home, which appeared to be abandoned was largely destroyed.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined however the site has been handed over to NSW Police for further investigations.
