Cat Rescued from 18th Floor - Olympic Park

Published: 11 Apr 2021 12:29pm

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) have worked to rescue Abito from the 18th floor of a high rise building in Olympic Park, Sydney.

At 12:30 pm this afternoon, specialist firefighters from Burwood and Liverpool were dispatched to reports of a cat stranded on an external ledge.

Crews arrived at the Boomerang Apartments in Olympic Park to find the unimpressed cat was not only stuck, but it was not easily accessed.

Despite windy conditions, rescue crews could safely lower a firefighter from the building's rooftop down the outside of the building. He carefully reached out and secured Abito, placing him in a bag.

Abito was then reunited with his very grateful owners.
