House fire - Forestville

Published: 30 Mar 2021 10:36am

Just after 10:30am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews from Forestville, Willoughby and Dee Why responded to a House Fire in Violet Avenue, Forestville.

Arriving crews found smoke issuing from the bedroom in the house, and quickly gained entry to the premises. The blaze was contained to the room of origin, with NSW Police and NSW Ambulance also responding to provide assistance.

Nobody was home at the time of the incident, and investigations into the exact cause of the fire are continuing.

With Fire and Rescue NSW crews attending multiple house fires over the past few weeks, Superintendent Scott Dodson said it was a timely reminder for residents to develop their fire escape plan.

"Now is the time for residents to check they have a working smoke alarm and that all members of the family have an awareness of calling Triple Zero (000) in an emergency" he said.
