Oil Spill - Lismore

Published: 17 Mar 2021 09:03am

Over twenty Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters have contained an oil spill that spanned over 20 kilometers this morning, throughout the Lismore and Goonellabah areas.

Firefighters from Goonellabah Fire Station were called to the scene just after 9 am this morning after a school bus had spilled oil for several kilometers.

Given the spill's size, additional crews were called to assist from Lismore and Alstonville Fire Stations. Firefighters worked for well over an hour to make the area safe, clearing the spill just before 11 am.

The spill has now been contained, and the impacted roads have since reopened.
