Building Fire - Belmont

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters have managed to extinguish a large fire that broke out at a sports club on Maude Street, Belmont just before 11pm last night.

More than a dozen firefighters battled the blaze for several hours and managed to contain it to the building of origin just after 1am.

The sports club was vacant at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported, however the building was completely destroyed.

NSW Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
