Two hour rescue operation - Wetherill Park

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have worked for over two hours to safely remove a young male who was trapped inside a vehicle after colliding with a power pole.

After receiving a call just before 9:30am this morning crews from Smithfield and Bonnyrigg Fire Stations worked to free the trapped male on Newton Rd, Wetherill Park.

Firefighters removed the entire side of the vehicle with specialist equipment to gain access to the passenger who was then removed and treated by Ambulance NSW and transported to hospital.

Police NSW were also on scene.
