Structure Fire - Nowra

Just before 1:30am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW responded to multiple Triple Zero (000) calls following reports of a building fire on Kinghorne Street, Nowra.

On arrival, crews found smoke issuing from a strip of shops with residential units above.

Over 50 firefighters worked hard to gain control, with the fire expanding into adjoining premises

It took just over three hours for fire crews to contain and extinguish the fire.

The dry cleaners and the unit above were totally destroyed, and adjoining shops and residences suffered smoke and heat damage.

NSW Police and Ambulance NSW were also in attendance but no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the fire.
