High Rise Unit Fire - Sydney City

On Friday evening, just before 6:30pm, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) responded to a unit fire in a high rise residential building on Kent Street.

Initially called by an Automatic Fire Alarm, they were informed of multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting smoke issuing from a unit.

Over 30 firefighters from the City of Sydney and surrounding stations responded and worked their way up to level 44 where they found a fire in a unit. With the help from the activated sprinklers, firefighters extinguished the fire.

Firefighters also safely evacuated occupants with NSW Ambulance in attendance as a precaution. No injuries were reported

NSW Police were in attendance for traffic control and assisted FRNSW with evacuated occupants.
