Possum Rescue - Umina

Published: 18 Jan 2021 09:47am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) have released a very relieved possum that was stuck in a power pole cover on Veron Road, Umina this morning.

Rescue crews from Umina and Gosford fire stations arrived on scene after being contacted by WIRES to find the possum deep inside the pole guard.

Using specialist rescue equipment, the rescuers were able to scare the possum so it escaped the guard on its own at around 11:10am.

The possum is now being assessed by WIRES for release back into the wild.
