Car Fire - Drummoyne

Firefighters have extinguished a fire that began inside the engine of a car on Lyons Road, Drummoyne just after 3.30pm on Sunday 10 January.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames issuing from the bonnet of the luxury car. A crowbar was used to pry open the bonnet and get access to the fire, a foam concentrate was used to smother the fire and prevent any re-ignition.

One Northbound lane of Lyons Rd was closed while firefighting operations were underway.

The occupants of the vehicle managed to escape with no injuries.
