Bush Fire - Tweed Heads South

Just before 1pm this afternoon, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to reports of a bushfire along side the Pacific Motorway south bound, near Terranora Creek Bridge, Tweed Heads South.

Crews from Tweed Heads and Banora Point Fire Stations arrived shortly after to find approximately half a hectare of grass burning alongside the motorway.

Firefighters worked for over an hour to extinguish the blaze and were able to prevent the fire spreading to a nearby caravan park.

NSW Police also attended the incident to manage traffic and investigate the cause.
