Multi vehicle crash - Sutton

Just after 4pm this afternoon, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a serious crash on Macs Reef Road, Sutton after receiving reports a bus and a car had collided.

Crews from Queanbeyan Fire Station arrived on scene to find a school bus and car involved in a serious head on collision trapping the male driver of the car.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW, Fire and Rescue ACT and the NSW Rural Fire Service set up fire protection lines as a precaution and worked to rescue the trapped driver from the wreck.

The bus driver and 30 passengers, all children were assessed by NSW Ambulance with 6 sustaining minor injuries. The driver of the car was airlifted to hospital.

The incident is currently being investigated by NSW Police.
