House Fire - Lake Illawarra

Just before 6:30pm on Thursday 19 November, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a home on Queen Street, Lake Illawarra after receiving numerous Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a house fire.

Crews from Shellharbour, Warrawong, Albion Park and Dapto Fire Stations arrived on scene to find large volumes of smoke and flames issuing from a small single level home.

Firefighters worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding properties and extinguished the fire within 90 minutes. Unfortunately, the home was completely destroyed by fire.

Three occupants self evacuated and were assessed by NSW Ambulance, however no injuries have been reported.

NSW Police also attended the incident and investigations into the cause are ongoing.
