School Fire - Broken Hill

Just after 2pm, Fire and Rescue NSW were alerted to reports of a fire at a school on Garnet St, Broken Hill.

Several fire stations from the Broken Hill region arrived on scene to find over 600 students and staff had self evacuated from the school.

On investigation, firefighters found a fire in an electrical distribution board on the second storey of the schools library.

Crews isolated power to the building and managed to quickly control the blaze before rendering the area safe.

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were in attendance, however no injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
