Just after 6pm, Tuesday 10 November, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a home on Springwood Avenue, Springwood after receiving multiple Triple Zero (000) calls with reports of a garage alight.

Several crews from Fire Stations across the Blue Mountains arrived on scene to find large volumes of smoke and flames issuing from an attached garage.

Crews worked together to ensure the blaze was quickly bought under control and prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining home.

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance attended the incidence, although no injuries have been reported.

The fire was caused by an electrical fault in the garage.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
