Car crash - Gladesville

Just before 3pm this afternoon, emergency services responded to Victoria Rd, Gladesville following reports of a multi vehicle crash.

Firefighters from Gladesville Fire Station arrived on scene just after 3pm and found one male trapped inside the vehicle with smoke issuing from the engine.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading whilst a specialist rescue crew from Eastwood Fire Station worked alongside NSW Ambulance to safely extricate the man.

The man was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

NSW Police are also in attendance as traffic on Victoria Rd is heavily affected, with two eastbound lanes currently closed. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
