Bird Rescue - Helensburgh

Published: 02 Nov 2020 12:13pm

Just after 12pm, Fire and Rescue NSW were called to Foster Street, Helensburgh after receiving reports a number of baby birds were trapped inside a drain.

Crews from Helensburgh Fire Station arrived shortly after and located two plover chicks trapped in a drain after falling through the grill.

Firefighters worked to free the chicks, whilst being swooped relentlessly by the plover parents who were not too happy about the rescue.

The chicks were released from the drain a short time later and reunited with the happy parents.
