Rock Ledge Rescue - North Avoca

At 5pm, October 17, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to an incident on the headland of North Avoca Parade, North Avoca, after a young male had fallen off a ledge onto rocks below.

Crews from Terrigal and Gosford Fire Stations arrived on scene shortly after and located the male, who had fallen four metres on to a rock platform near the oceans edge.

Firefighters worked with NSW Ambulance, NSW Police and North Avoca Surf Life Savers to access and stabilise the patient.

Due to the difficult nature of the rescue, a helicopter was used to lift and transport the patient to hospital for further treatment.
