Multiple House Fires - Bar Point

At 1am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW were alerted to a house fire on Kalindra Road in Bar Point.

On arrival, crews from Kariong Fire Station and crews from the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) boarded an RFS fireboat to gain access to the waterfront houses.

Crews established two homes were totally involved with fire and one more property was under immediate threat. Additionally, bushland at the rear of the properties was under ember attack.

Firefighters worked for over forty minutes to bring the blaze under control and a further hour extinguish it. Two houses were completely destroyed by fire, while the third was badly damaged.

One person was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor burns.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
