Unit Fire - Tolland

Just before 12:30pm, Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to a unit block on Bruce Street, Tolland after receiving multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a unit fire.

Crews from Turvey Park and Wagga Wagga Fire Stations arrived on scene to find smoke issuing from a second floor unit. Firefighters gained entry and extinguished the fire, and were able to contain the blaze to the unit of origin.

NSW Ambulance attended the incident, though no occupants were home at the time of the fire.

NSW Police were also on scene and are working to investigate the cause of the blaze.



Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
