Tree Falls on to Powerlines - Wahroonga

Published: 21 Sep 2020 04:00pm

At 4pm, 21 September, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to an incident involving a tree that had fallen onto overhead power lines on Munderah Street, Wahroonga.

Beecroft Fire Station arrived to find a large branch, from a tall gum tree, had fallen directly onto overhead power lines, causing them to break, land on a parked vehicle and block the road.

Firefighters created an exclusion zone with barrier tape and Ausgrid isolated the power while the powerlines were replaced. NSW SES assisted in the removal of the fallen tree branches and cut up the larger sections.

Fire and Rescue NSW would like to remind the public that exclusion zones are set up for their safety and to please not cross barrier tape for any reason.
