House Boat Fire - Palm Beach

Just after 2pm, 20 September, Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Avalon, Mona Vale and Forestville Fire Stations responded to a number of Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a house boat fire in Pittwater, Palm Beach.

Firefighters arrived to the scene to find a house boat, located 200 metres offshore, well alight.

Firefighters commandeered two boats and worked with portable pumps to fight the blaze. NSW RFS also were in attendance.

Crews worked until approximately 3:15pm to extinguish the fire.

Specialist HAZMAT crews used containment booms to prevent any fuel and oil spills into the waterway.

No injuries were reported and all occupants of the house boat safely evacuated to a nearby wharf.
