Oil spill - Valla Beach

Just before 10am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Nambucca Heads Fire Station responded to an incident on Seaforth Drive, Valla Beach following reports of an oil spill after a street cleaners hydraulic hose ruptured.

On arrival, firefighters from both Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service found the spill stretching for approximately one kilometre.

Firefighters and the local Council worked for over 45 minutes placing special absorbents over the spill, rendering it safe.

The incident has now been handed over to the local Council who will have street sweepers finish the clean up.

Please drive with caution in the area.
