Car and Truck Collision - Gateshead

Just before 7:30am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW were called a truck and car crash on the Pacific Highway, near Oakdale Road in Gateshead, Lake Macquarie.

Tingira Heights and Belmont Fire Stations arrived to find that a car had crashed into the back of a truck, trapping one injured person.

Once the vehicle and patient were stabilised, firefighters removed the door of the vehicle and released the trapped person.

Upon release, the individual was treated by NSW Ambulance and transported to hospital.

Firefighters remained on scene to mop up an oil spill from the incident before rendering the area safe.

NSW Police were also in attendance.
