Unit Fire - Carramar

Just after 11.15am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW received numerous Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a unit fire on Sandal Cr, Carramar.

Firefighters arrived on scene a short time later to find a unit on the third level of an apartment block well alight with flames issuing from the roof.

A total of seven crews worked to extinguish the blaze which engulfed a unit and had extended to the roof of the building.

The fire was extinguished just before 1pm and residents were able to return to unaffected units. NSW Ambulance were also on scene and treated two adults and two children for smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators are currently on scene, however the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.



Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
