Truck Hits Overhead Wires - Winston Hills

Published: 07 Sep 2020 08:19am

At 8:20am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW received reports of a truck that had hit power lines in Winston Hills, Parramatta, trapping a driver in their car.

Firefighters from Sydney's West responded to the incident, with Baulkham Hills fire station first to arrive on scene. They established a truck had brought down some over head power lines across the bonnet of another car, trapping the driver in the vehicle.

After setting up a restricted access area and advising the driver to stay within the car, Energy Australia was contacted to isolate the power to the pole and impacted powerlines.

Once power had been effectively isolated, firefighters were able to successfully remove the driver from the vehicle.

Crews remained on scene for a short while after to render the area safe, and clean up from the incident.
