House Fire - Georges Basin

Today just after 3pm Fire and Rescue NSW Received a Triple Zero (000) call reporting a house fire at Raunch Close, Georges Basin.

Crews from Shoalhaven Fire Station and NSWRFS arrived shortly after to find smoke issuing from the ground level of a two story house.

Fire fighters gained entry wearing breathing apparatus and commenced fire attack. Search and rescue has been completed with the all clear given.

The fire was contained to the ground level and has since been extinguished.

One person self evacuated and is currently being treated by NSW Ambulance for smoke inhalation.



Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
