Gas Cylinder Fire - Dubbo

Shortly after 9:30am, Fire and Rescue NSW received a Triple Zero (000) call, reporting a fire at a childcare centre on Wheelers Lane, Dubbo.

Upon arrival crews from Dubbo Fire Station found a gas bottle alight and assisted in evacuating more than 80 staff and children from the building.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire before submerging the gas bottle into a bin of water to cool down. The area has since been rendered safe.

NSW Ambulance also attended a precaution, however there were no injuries sustained as a result of the fire.
