100 Evacs from building fire - Alexandria

Shortly after 10pm this evening Fire and Rescue NSW responded two crews to an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) on Mandible Street in Alexandria.

On arrival, firefighters found a smoke logged building with approximately one hundred people self-evacuating.

The fire was located in the garbage chute of an 8 level building.

The fire has been extinguished and occupants are returning to their units.
