Oil spill - Haberfield

Just before 9.15am this morning HAZMAT crews Fire and Rescue NSW were called to reports of an oil spill in Haberfield.
Crews arrived on scene a short time later and discovered a large amount of oil moving along the surface of Hawthorne Canal on Marion St.
HAZMAT crews were able to install a boom in the water to contain the spill and prevent it from spreading any further.
The incident is currently being investigated by Inner West Council.
