Fuel tanker crash - Lawson

Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Lawson, Wentworth Falls and Katoomba fire stations are on the scene of a fuel tanker accident on the Great Western Highway, Lawson, which occurred at around 2pm today.

The truck crashed into the median strip and was leaking fuel.

Fire crews have contained the leak and are in the process of safely removing the spilled fuel, with the assistance of a HAZMAT unit from St Marys.

One eastbound lane on the Great Western Highway is closed and there may be increased traffic in the area as a result. Please drive to conditions.
