Just after 10.30am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW crews recieved a Triple Zero (000) call alerting them of a house fire on Phillip St, Waterloo.

Upon arrival crews were able to gain entry and quickly extinguish a fire which began in the kitchen after unattended cooking had caught alight.

"If your cooking catches fire, never use water to put out a fat or oil fire, turn off the stove if it is safe to do so and call Triple Zero (000)."
