Unit Fire - Riverwood

Fire and Rescue NSW Firefighters attended a fire in a unit in Riverwood. There was reports of a loud bang and flames on the top floor of an apartment.
When firefighters arrived a fire had broken out on the third floor of the unit block.
They managed to gain entry and extinguish the flame before it caused further damage to neighbouring properties.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said FRNSW is attending numerous house fires and that it was a timely reminder for residents to develop their fire escape plan.
"Now is the time for residents to check they have a working smoke alarm and that all members of the family have an awareness of calling Triple Zero (000) in an emergency," he said.
