Fireplace Fire - Gidley

Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters from Tamworth Fire Station attended a house this morning following reports of smoke showing around the occupants fireplace.

A Thermal Imaging Camera was used to identify intense heat within the wall. Firefighters then carefully assessed the hotspot and prevented any further spread.

A Fire and Rescue NSW Spokesperson from Tamworth Fire Station issued a request “Please get your fireplace and surrounds checked and remember to call Triple Zero (000) if you smell smoke or see fire”.
