Complicated Cliff Rescue - Kenthurst

At about 1:30am on Saturday Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Blacktown and Castle Hill were called to reports of a male who had fallen down a cliff in Kenthurst.

Crews arrived to find concerned family members who escorted them to the area where the 22 year old male had fallen. An extraction plan was formed, comprising of a rope haul and if necessary a helicopter would be called.

For additional resources, a second Technical Rescue Vehicle from Liverpool Fire Station was requested and soon attended.

The patient was located and stabilised, crews then worked for over two hours to setup a rope rescue system and started to haul the patient up to safety.

After a four hour operation, the patient was hauled to the top of a ten meter cliff and transported to hospital.
