Koala Rescue - Macquarie Fields

Just before 2pm today Fire and Rescue NSW crews assisted in the rescue of a pregnant koala in a tree at Macquarie Fields today.

The female koala, named Gladys, is being monitored by local WIRES volunteers who called FRNSW to remove the koala as she was close to a busy road.

Gladys was safely removed from the tree by FRNSW and has now been taken back to her colony where she is resting comfortably.
