Horse Rescue - Werombi

Just before 9 am last Friday (8 May 2020) Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Narellan and Liverpool fire stations attended a complicated incident involving a distressed horse trapped in a sinkhole.

Crews arrived to find Evie the horse stuck on her side in a deep hole.

Liverpool fire station provided large animal rescue equipment and after approximately four hours of careful and systematic operations Evie was slid gently to safety by firefighters. 

The horse was transported to a local veterinary clinic.

Evie’s owners contacted Narellan Fire Station late on Sunday night to let them know that Evie was out of ICU and up and on her feet.
