An electrical fire in the roof section of Riverdale Shopping Centre today forced 500 people to be evacuated from the building.Fire crews from Dubbo and Delroy were called to the building just before 5.00pm. The crews discovered an electrical fire in an air conditioning unit. The unit was damaged by fire, and smoke throughout the building resulted in the 500 persons being evacuated.
An electrician isolated the power to the unit before fire crews would let the occupants back in.
