10/7/11 - Winter house fire tragedies continue

There were more tragic house fires in the early hours on this morning.In Gunnedah crews responded to a house fire in High St. Responding crews arrived to a house that was well alight, and with 1 person reported trapped inside. Crews conducted search and rescue operations in breathing apparatus, but unfortunately a deceased male was confirmed inside the house.
Earlier in the evening crews were responded to a house fire in Bimbi Pl Bonnyrigg. Crews there were confronted with a house well alight. Fortunately the family had been alerted to the fire by their smoke alarm, and had already evacuated the premises. Responding crews were from Bonnyrigg Heights, Busby, Cabramatta and Smithfield.
