29/6/11 - Large shed fire in Wagga Wagga

Early this afternoon crews were called to a fire in Ashmont, Wagga Wagga, after receiving numerous 000 calls. En route crews could see large volumes of smoke, and called for assistance.On arrival crews found a shed 30m x 30m, which was well alight. Crews worked on the fire with 3 hoselines, and the Aerial Appliance from Turvey Park. Firefighters directed their hoselines to protect 2 exposures nearby.
The fire was extinguished after 2 hours. Though the shed was destroyed by the fire, crews were able to save the 2 sheds which were exposures, which suffered minor damage only.
