05/06/11 - House destroyed at Sefton

A house was extensively damaged by fire in Hector Street at Sefton early this morning.

Firefighters were called to the two level house just after 1.00am this morning. Firefighters arrived within five minutes of the call and reported that the entire structure was well alight. Twenty firefighters from six surrounding stations attended the blaze which took about one hour to bring under control and extinguish. The rear of both levels of the house were severly damaged by the blaze. Fortunately the house was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
