17/02/11 - Bushfire at Abermain

Just after 12.30 pm today FRNSW crews from Abermain, Kurri Kurri, Weston, Cessnock and Kearsley, along with crews from RFS, responded to an area of bush alight in Cessnock Rd Abermain. Crews arrived to find 1 hectare of bush alight, threatening 2 properties. The properties under threat were saved, with 1 suffering minor heat damage. 1 caravan was destroyed by the fire, which was extinguished at 2.00 pm. One person was treated for minor burns by ambulance personnel on scene.
