14/01/11 - Busy day for Rescue crews across the state

Today, the NSWFB processed 734 reports of incidents across the state. Highlights include:

Today Fire Rescue officers responded to over 50 rescue incidents including serious motor vehicle accidents at Tumbarumba, Coniston, Blacktown, Raby, Silverwater and two trucks collided on the South Western Motorway. A child was also rescued after becoming trapped in playground equipment at Kincumber.

There were two serious residential fires today at North Gosford and a house severely damaged at Marsden Park.

Several Hazmat incidents were attended including a paint spillage at Rydalmere.

Fire crews also extinguished an electrical fire at Fairfield and a building was destroyed by fire at the Anchorage Caravan Park at Sussex Inlet.
