FRNSW Qld committment

FRNSW currently has a committment of 40 Firefighters, comprising of 2 x 6 person Swift Water Rescue Teams, plus 28 firefighters as part of the 42 person USAR team. The 2 Swift Water Rescue Teams have been deployed to various locations in the flood affected areas of Queensland and the FRNSW-led NSW Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force were receiving their briefing after arriving in Brisbane this evening. A third team of six FRNSW Swiftwater Rescue Technicians has been placed on standby. In St George two FRNSW personnel are the Swiftwater capability for the township of St George and are awaiting redeployment to Chinchilla or Brisbane. In Chinchilla one FRNSW member and one QFRS member are the Swiftwater capability for Chinchilla working in close co-operation with SES and Qld Ambulance teams. In Rockhampton three FRNSW personnel are working as part of two Swiftwater response teams conducting RDA and assisting with deployment of Rescue equipment. In Ipswich two FRNSW personnel conducted search of waterways In Brisbane we have four FRNSW personnel assisting with evacuation of up to 200 persons and have conducted numerous water rescues.
