Update from the Swiftwater Rescue Teams from Fire and Rescue NSW deployed in Qld for Tuesday 11/1/11. 2 firefighters are in St George awaiting redeployment to Chinchilla via Helicopter, where the flood waters are rising at 100mm per hour 1 firefighter has been working in the Depot Hill and Allentown areas of Rockhampton and responded to a Swiftwater incident today. 2 firefighters have been working in the Gracemere and Mt Morgan areas and assisting with deployment of rescue Resources 1 firefighter was redeployed to Chinchilla today and has been conducting an assessment of the town. At 5.00pm his team had received a request from the SES to assist in gaining access to an elderly man who was isolated by flood water and unable to be contacted.
