Swiftwater Rsecue Teams assisting Qld Floods

Fire and Rescue NSW has responded to a request for assistance from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) . This request has led to the deployment on Friday 7 January 2011 of a six (6) member FRNSW Swiftwater Rescue Team. The team has been deployed to various locations with four QFRS Swiftwater Response Teams: 2 FRNSW Firefighters conducted Rapid Damage Assessment with their team in the Gracemere area south of Rockhampton. 1 FRNSW Firefighter and three QFRS Swiftwater Rescue Technicians are the Swiftwater Response Capability for the town of St George. 2 FRNSW Firefighters are deployed with a team that are the Swiftwater response Capability for the town of Dirrumbambi 1 FRNSW Firefighter is deployed in Rockhampton conducting RDA and as part of a Swiftwater response team.
